REDDITMeeting one of your idols can be a humbling experience. Even if you happen to be a platinum-selling, award-winning, record-breaking artist yourself. Last night (Oct. 15), Nicki Minaj ran into one of her favs, Lauryn Hill, while backstage at the Tidal X concert and almost lost her damn mind.
Minaj was clearly shaken by the experience and expressed her emotions in the caption. “Excuse me while I have an outer body experience. Shaking, crying, a MESS!!!! 😩 this lady is the reason. Omg. The QUEEN. Goddess! The epitome! The bar! The *faints*. Ms Lauryn Hill told me to keep “spittin dat fire”. Is this real life!????,” she wrote.
She later posed for pics with Hill (below) and was all smiles.
While Nicki loves Lauryn, the distinction of her favorite rapper happens to go to Jay Z. “I think everybody knows how obsessed I am with Jay Z. He’s always been my favorite rapper — him and Wayne,” she said in a past interview.
But clearly, she has already met Hov and Tunechi.
