We knew when T.I. prefaced his statement with “Not to be sexist,” we knew he was undoubtedly about to say something pretty damn sexist.
In an interview with DJ Whoo Kid, the rapper explained why he simply cannot cast a vote for Hillary Clinton in the upcoming presidential election.
“Not to be sexist but, I can’t vote for the leader of the free world to be a woman,” the rapper said. “Just because, every other position that exists, I think a woman could do well. But the president? It’s kinda like, I just know that women make rash decisions emotionally – they make very permanent, cemented decisions – and then later, it’s kind of like it didn’t happen, or they didn’t mean for it to happen. And I sure would hate to just set off a nuke. [Other leaders] will not be able to negotiate the right kinds of foreign policy; the world ain’t ready yet. I think you might be able to the Lochness Monster elected before you could [get a woman].”
Facepalm just doesn’t do the above quote justice.
Let’s not forget DJ Whoo Kid instigating this dialogue with his own injection of sexist ‘vagina’ taunts.
The idea that T.I. thinks Hillary (because she’s a woman) will just “set off a nuke” isn’t only troubling – it’s just silly.
Before he launched into his sexist monologue, T.I. expressed his support of Donald Trump’s showmanship.
“And I do feel that if he is sincerely concerned about the economy of America and the working public, he would be the best person to flip the money that we have […]”
T.I. did acknowledge that Trump’s “racist remarks” and “off-color statements” make it difficult to fully support him as a candidate.
Thanks T.I. – nice to know you draw the line somewhere.
