While Nick Cannon was simply trying to express his feelings on the unfortunate circumstances in Ferguson following the grand jury’s decision not to indict Darren Wilson for killing 18-year-old Michael Brown, many people decided to make a mockery of his statements.

Nick took to Twitter and posted three short tweets briefly expressing his thoughts on all of the drama that has been unfolding.  He began by notifying everyone that he wishes he could be there offering his support instead of currently in London handling business.  His next tweet is what set people off.

Nick wrote, ” No need for the gas, we already had tears.”

Many people felt as though Nick was trying to sound “cool” with this play on words, but despite his follow-up tweet sending his prayers to those in Ferguson, fans still trolled him for his “gas” comment.

Check out the reactions above.  Do you think the responses were necessary?
