Mexican authorities are growing closer to the whereabouts of Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, after detaining an additional 13 people in connection to his prison escape.

USA Today reports 11 men and two women were arrested in connection to the drug lord’s escape. A statement from Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the detainments on Friday.

El Chapo’s first prison escape happened back in 2001 in Guadalupe, by leaving a high security federal prison in a laundry truck before he was recaptured last year. Among those arrested on Friday included Valentin Cardenas, the former director of the Altiplano prison in central Mexico, and Celina Oseguera, the former director of Mexico’s federal prisons.

In total, 20 people have been arrested in connection to El Chapo.

Proceedings began against two intelligence service members (CISEN) and two prison control room employees after they allegedly helped the druglord escape through a tunnel dug into his prison cell.
