Nicki Minaj is plotting her return. The mother of one sent fans into a flurry on Monday (May 10) after posting two pictures on Twitter and announcing that she’ll be dropping something new this Friday (May 14). The two shots find the partially nude rap queen sitting on top of a pink desk and covering herself with fluffy heart-shaped pillows.
In the tweet’s caption, she wrote, “F R I D A Y.”
Fans were understandably excited, as Minaj hasn’t released any new music this year. The Trinidadian-born artist last linked up with YoungBoy Never Broke Again and producer Mike WiLL Made-It to drop their collaboration “What That Speed Bout!?” in November.

Prior to that, Minaj hopped on Sada Baby’s “Whole Lotta Choppas (Remix)” and teamed up with ASAP Ferg and MadeinTYO for “Move Ya Hips.”
Minaj has been on a bit of a music and social media hiatus as of late after welcoming her first child into the world back in September. At the end of last year, Minaj celebrated her son turning 3 months old with a sweet post on Instagram.
“Papa Bear thank you so very much for choosing me to be your mama,” she wrote. “… Thank you for your love & support throughout this journey. It’s meant so much to me. Becoming a mom is by far the most fulfilling job I’ve ever taken on. Sending love to all the superhero mothers out there. Big hugs to all the women who have been pregnant during this challenging time.”

Minaj released her most recent studio album, Queen, in 2018. Besides music, she’s also been working on her forthcoming HBO Max docuseries, which she claimed will give fans a “raw” and “unfiltered” look at her life.
