ony magazine has been making waves with the release of its November cover. The controversial image shows the Huxtable family, the iconic family from The Cosby Show, in a shattered frame, reflecting the impact that the multiple sexual assault allegations against Bill Cosby has had on the show’s legacy.

While the cover has certainly got tongues wagging, not everyone is pleased by the bold move, especially not Malcolm Jamal Warner. Warner told theHuffington Post that he was frustrated that the magazine, which is “one of the voices of the black community,” was taking down the iconic Huxtable family. He also suggested that the cover was only further perpetuating the “broken black family” stereotype.

“[The cover is] contributing to the stereotypical image that society has of the broken black family and the shattered black family,” Warner said during an interview on HuffPost Live. “And to take something that … for 20 [or] 30 years has been what we have held up as the black family that we all want to aspire to, in terms of the love that we don’t see when we see black families in the media — to take that image and to shatter it, it’s disappointing to a lot of us.”
