Lil Wayne is willing to stay with Cash Money Records if the label gives him the $10 million he says they owe him for finishing Tha Carter V. According to TMZ, if Birdman decides to pay up, this will eliminate any breach of contract and Wayne is willing to back off on the $51 million lawsuit he recently issued. Also in the report it states that Universal Records—the company that handles distribution for Cash Money—is telling Baby and the rest of CM to settle this issue ASAP. In Wayne’s legal battle against Cash Money, he claims his contract has been breached because the money he’s owed is being withheld from him, thus causing his LP to be delayed.
Yesterday (Jan. 28), the Young Money CEO issued a massive lawsuit to Birdman and Cash Money because they violated his deal and asked the judge for the rights to take Drake and Nicki Minaj with him. Something Wayne previously threatened. Weezy initially was after Cash Money because he never received the $8 million promised when he began recording the album and the other $2 million when he completed it a year later.
This drama has been going on since last winter when he tweeted about his displeasures with Birdman and the label. The drama was put on wax on Weezy’s Sorry 4 The Wait 2 mixtape, which Birdman is not a fan of. Baby hasn’t publicly spoke on the issue but sources say he is not budging.
