The Rumor Mill’s favorite couple, Beyoncé and Jay Z, took the stage together last night to close the third annual Global Citizen Festival in Central Park. Jay Z had the final set, but it was a pleasant surprise to fans for Bey to join him as a guest performer.
The (still!) married superstars sang “Holy Grail” and “Young Forever” at the event, which aired live on MSNBC. (Watch their performance video below.)
The Saturday night concert brought more than 60,000 fans to New York City, raising awareness and funds for Global Poverty Project’s goal to end extreme poverty by 2030.
Bey and Jay weren’t the only stars on hand. According to E! News, pregnant Carrie Underwood performed “Before He Cheats” and “Cowboy Casanova,” and pregnant Alicia Keys also performed a set. Plus, Gwen Stefani reunited with No Doubt — and Sting joined them for a special rendition of “Message in a Bottle.”
Fun., Tiesto, and The Roots also performed, and 25 celebrity hosts showed support — including Hugh Jackman, Jessica Alba, Olivia Wilde, and Zachary Quinto. Watch more performances at MSNBC.
FYI, Beyoncé’s amazing white top and high-waisted black pants are said to be from Dolce & Gabbana.
