The late Michael Jackson is receiving support from T.I. following the broadcast of HBO’s “Leaving Neverland.”

On Wednesday (March 6), the Dime Trap rapper shared his thoughts on the film and the disturbing allegations of child molestation made by two men who were once close to the King of Pop. According to TIP, the documentary should have never been released following Jackson’s death in 2009.

“Let this man speak for himself to defend his legacy. Don’t just listen to one side and expect to find truth,” he wrote on Instagram. “Oh that’s right…Dead men can’t speak.”

Continuing his defense of Jackson, the Atlanta native shared a clip of a 40-minute interview Jackson did with journalist Piers Morgan in 1999. In the audio, Jackson vehemently denies ever harming children. “I would slit my wrists before I would,” he said at the time. “I could never, ever.”

The 38-year-old rapper also questioned the motive of the documentary. “So what was the point again? Destroy another strong black historical LEGEND?!?!” he asked. “It’s several examples of pedophilia in American History… if y’all pulling up all our old shit… we gotta examine ELVIS PRESLEY, HUGH HEPHNER, and a whole slew of others guilty of the same if not more!!! BUT WHY US all the time? There’s an agenda to destroy OUR CULTURE.”

T.I. also reposted a tweet of someone defending the Thriller singer and his relationship with young children, as shown below. “These are assaults against OUR CULTURE!!! Make no mistake of it!!!” the “Got Your Back” emcee wrote.

T.I.’s statements come after radio stations around the world have started to ban Jackson’s music citing demands from listeners who felt disturbed by the allegations made in “Leaving Neverland.” On Friday (March 8), it was also announced “The Simpsons” will pull episodes featuring Jackson’s voice from broadcast and streaming services effective immediately in light of the documentary.
