Today in depressing news about dead people: Michael Jackson’s maids are talking to the press about what it was like to work at Neverland. It’s not particularly pretty — in fact, it’s covered in human pee and animal waste, and heavily caught up in the new abuse allegations filed against Jackson. The New York Post is calling him the “King Of Poop.”

The reports of Jackson’s behavior come from three of his maids, who spoke (anonymously) to the Post — not about his relations with children but about his cleanliness. Their descriptions are queasy-making if you’re easily squicked by bodily fluids, and they probably won’t make Oprah Winfrey happy. Here’s how one of the maids described the day after Winfrey came to interview him in 1993, alongside Elizabeth Taylor:

He literally peed on the floor of the entryway, right where you saw Oprah walk in. It was surreal. He just stood there, unzipped his trousers and watered the floor

And the more frequent happenings regardless of celebrity guests:

Michael sometimes ran around where the animals were, and he’d track . . . poop throughout the house and think nothing of it. Then, if you said something, he’d threaten to make doo-doo snowballs and throw it at you.

The maids allege his behavior morphed into this after the 1993 molestation allegations Jordan Chandler made against Jackson, which culminated in Jackson paying the Chandler family $20 million.

As with anything having to do with Jackson at this juncture, things are made complicated by the fact that he’s not around to defend himself. Nevertheless, thePost story paints an interesting picture — one that includes Macaulay Culkin and other kids throwing cans at each other and having endless food fights, and rampant bed bugs. It also lends an interesting flavor to the fact that Neverland’s on the market now, soon to be owned by someone else.
