Jamel Jones, AKA Mel Murda, the former leader of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, pled guilty in Tekashi 6ix9ine’s federal case on Wednesday (April 3). According to Justice.gov, Jones pled guilty to one count of racketeering conspiracy and one count of participating in a narcotics distribution conspiracy. This comes after three other members in the case, including Tekashi and his former manager Shotti, also pled guilty in the case.

U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman stated in court, “Jamel Jones admitted in open court to his involvement in Nine Trey and distributing drugs for the gang. We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to keep our communities safe and vigorously investigate and prosecute those who bring violence and drugs into our communities.”

Jones is now facing 65 years in prison and will be sentenced on July 17.
