Kevin Hart understands that sometimes, less is more.

The Grudge Match actor sat down with GlobalGrind’s own BlogXilla to discuss what he learned from working with Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone, and the possibility of a movie about his rapper alter ego Chocolate Droppa.

Kevin explained that working on Grudge Match he has learned to be very involved with the projects he’s working on, and then we started talking about “Chocolate Drop, The Movie.”

I asked Kevin if he ever considered making a movie out of everyone’s favorite rapper.

“It’s such a fine line. I don’t do it a lot. I do it and when it’s done, it’s like, ‘Oh my God it’s crazy, this guy is funny.’”

“If I were to (make a movie) it would be something that builds. Right now, people know what the character is about, but it would have to be well written and done correctly.”

“Right now, I don’t know what that complete story would be.”

Watch the video for the full response and go see Grudge Match in theaters Christmas Day.

Kevin plays a boxing promoter named Dante Slate Jr, who is following in his father’s footstep by putting together the same fight his father promoted 30 years ago. Robert DeNiro and Sylvester Stallone play Billy “The Kid” McDonnen and Henry “Razor” Sharp, two local Pittsburgh fighters whose fierce rivalry put them in the national spotlight. After an HBO special restarts their rivalry Dante Slate Jr., sees big dollar signs, then makes them an offer they can’t refuse: to re-enter the ring and settle the score once and for all.

Grudge Match is funny and highly entertaining and worth going to see. After you see Kevin’s performance in Grudge Match you’ll be keeping your fingers crossed for that Chocolate Drop movie!
