Fans continue to threaten each other with violence.

Detroit police wasted no time trying to diffuse the potential for explosive violence following a viral video that showed east-side rappers and their friends beating Jeezy’s artist HBK of Doughboyz Cashout on Thanksgiving evening.

“We are trying to work with both sides to negotiate a peaceful resolution,” Detroit Police Sgt. Michael Woody told me Monday.

Police immediately reached out to both sides as fans flooded social media with threats of violence and retaliation.

But HBK, who was knocked out and robbed of his coveted chain necklace when he was attacked by a mob of men that included east-side rappers Icewear Vezzo and Green Guy Webbie, tweeted that he doesn’t want to cooperate with the police.

“Come on now the last thing I would do is press charges I dont even like da fucking cops myself,” HBK tweeted. “da hating dont work so they tell lies….”

HBK said he’s doing well following the attack, which happened at Cobo Hall following a Floyd Mayweather party.

    Twitter threat

Twitter user Worthyboy77 publicly threatened Green Guy Webbie.

The widely viewed beating has stoked fears of retaliation and a return to the old rivalry between west-side and east-side rappers. In 2004 and 2005, the rivalry led to the shooting deaths of promising rappers Blade Icewood and Wipeout.

Young Jeezy, who signed the Doughboyz to his Atlantic-distributed CTE label earlier this year, is performing at the Masonic Temple on Dec. 28.

The threats continued Monday and early Tuesday on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
