Well It’s about damn time! We’ve been waiting for what seems like forever for the Carter V to drop, and it seems like our dreams are finally coming true. Maybe 2017 won’t be a total bust after all.
According to TMZ, Birdman recently made an appearance on Travis Scott and Chase B’s Beats 1 show on the radio, and while chopping it up with the fellas he finally gave the world an update on Weezy’s long-awaited album.
Birdman never gave an actual release date during the interview, but he did say that the album was coming out, he was squashing all the beef, and will always have Wayne’s back.

One would think from hearing the interview, maybe the trouble in YMCMB paradise was starting to finally transform into some kind of truce between Baby and Tunechi. However, that does not seem to be the case at all.
Weezy responded to the interview saying Birdman was “full of sh*t” and that the album was not set to be released soon. Furthermore, a source told TMZ that Wayne believes that all the Baby is trying to do is “look like the nice guy.” Weezy reportedly said Birdman needs to stop boasting about the album, and start paying him since no moves have been made in trying to settle that $51 million lawsuit.
Lil Wayne started the Carter V project back in 2012, but all the beef between him and Baby goes back to 2014, when Wayne tweeted: “To all my fans, I want u to know that my album won’t and hasn’t been released bekuz Baby & Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it.”
In October of last year Wayne’s manager, Cortez Bryant, revealed in a radio interview that Birdman even pumped the breaks on the Carter V’s free Google release that Wayne had originally planned on doing this year. Listen to the full interview here.
