DETROIT (WXYZ) — Well-known television Judge Greg Mathis won’t be charged in an incident where it was alleged he spit on a valet worker at Flood’s Bar and Grille in downtown Detroit.

The alleged incident happened in August. Now Detroit police say the victim is not cooperating with police as investigators have attempted several times to get a statement.

“There is nothing we can do without the victim coming forward. We’d need a statement from the victim to pursue criminal charges in this matter,” according to a statement from Detroit police.

The valet claimed that the celebrity judge yelled at him in front of co-workers and customers when he was returning with the keys to the judge’s car. The valet then claimed that Mathis spit on him.

Mathis denied the claim in a video with TMZ . The judge also posted his response video to Twitter, but has since deleted the post.

Mathis also claimed he was waiting for his vehicle keys for 40 minutes.

Action News recently interviewed the attorney representing the valet worker . The alleged victim’s attorney did not return calls made by Action News for comment.
