Attempt Robbery Leads to the Death of Prominent Figure DJ Slick B

Detroit (MDN)— Sources have identified Byron, 28, also known as DJ Slick as the man who was gunned down Friday evening on Detroit’s west side. DJ Slick was a special guest at an event in the Hemp Museum. According to the flier posted on Hemp Museum’s Instagram, Byron was at the museum for its grand opening. He was one of the special guests there that night.

According to police, at approximately 7:25 p.m, in the 1000 block of W. McNichols, two victims were approaching the victim’s vehicle when a suspect emerged from the victim’s vehicle and attempted to rob both victims at gunpoint and then allegedly shot them.

Police say it is uncertain if anything was taken. One of the victims 28-year-old male died on the scene. The other victim 25-year-old was transported to a local hospital.

After the shooting, the suspect fled in a dark-color SUV. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated.

Police stated this is preliminary information subject to change upon further investigation.
