Controversial and currently incarcerated rapper 6ix9ine, born Danielle Hernandez, has reportedly pleaded guilty to nine felony charges in his federal criminal case.

Months after originally entering a plea claiming he was not guilty back in November 2018, the rapper has since changed his mind and subsequent legal approach.

According to court records, 6ix9ine entered his guilty plea on Jan. 23 and the records were sealed until a motion prosecutors filed to unseal them was granted on Friday (Feb. 1)

As reported by New York’s NBC4, in addition to entering a guilty plea, 6ix9ine will be cooperating with government officials as they continue their probe of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods street gang. As part of the plea deal, the 22-year-old will also provide information “against multiple violent people associated with the same criminal enterprise of which he admits, or will soon apparently admit, being a member.”

According to the Associated Press, 6ix9ine said he joined the gang in the fall of 2017 and went on to help fellow gang members try to kill a rival member last March. Per court documents, the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods are “a criminal organization whose members and associates engaged in, among, other activities, acts involving murder, robbery and narcotics trafficking.”

As previously reported, in November 2018, 6ix9ine was charged with three counts of firearms offense, one count of racketeering conspiracy, three counts of violent crime in aid of racketeering, one count of narcotics trafficking and another count of firearms offense and was later had multiple requests for baildenied by a judge.

The rapper’s former manager Kifano “Shottie” Jordan and other associates Jensel “Ish” Butler, Faheem “Crippy” Walter, Fuguan “Fu Banga” Lovick and Jamel “Mel Murda” Jones were arrested on the same charges last year.

According to court records, 6ix9ine is scheduled to be sentenced by January 24, 2020. He was originally scheduled for a trial date beginning Sept. 4, 2019.

At the time of this report, his lawyer, Lance Lazzaro, has not yet issued a statement on his client’s behalf.
