DJ Quik lost his cool on Twitter early Monday [August 8], with a barrage of shots at fellow Compton artist YG and his management team. Quik called coastal king Snoop Dogg’s attention to the matter, by dropping his name as another rapper under Stampede Management, as he went about accusing them of putting out YG’s single, “My N***a,” without giving him engineering and recording credit for his work on the song.

“My Lawyer has You [in] His sights. You’ve f***ed up,” Quik said after stating his claim. “@YG be safe on the block I invented,” he then warned, before including Def Jam records in a tweet. He also tagged Jeezy, requesting that he and YG credit him for stemming and recording vocals on the Rich Homie Quan featured platinum record, “My Hitta.”

DJ Quik last made noise in the spring, when during an interview with NoahTV he challenged Kanye West to step his game up. The remarks came in the aftermath of Quik lamenting that Ye got the kind of credit for bringing 80’s favorites El Debarge back onThe Life of Pablo, that he never received for featuring them on his 1998 album, rhythm-al-ism. And he isn’t the first legendary Cali DJ to demand a just due this year, with Daz Dillinger recently accusing DJ Mustard of jacking his beat in a lawsuit against Sony publishing.
