Even though Kandi Burruss and her fiancé Todd Tucker are madly in love, their path to the altar has been anything but smooth sailing. Kandi’s mother, Mama Joyce, doesn’t think the entertainment professional is good enough for her Grammy-winning daughter, and herdisapproval of Todd has been chronicled on thisseason of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Kandi got plenty of heat for not telling her mama to butt out, and Mama Joyce has been heavily criticized for bashing her daughter’s boo. Despite the drama, Kandi insists her wedding to Todd is still on, though it seems like the happy couple is still ironing out all the details, like where and when the nuptials will take place.
Kandi was on Watch What Happens Live last Sunday, and one caller asked her first how the wedding planning was coming along, and then if she planned to have any of her fellow Housewives in the wedding party. “We had a date that we wanted to do but we’re thinking about changing it,” she began. “As far as who is in it … no,” she said, revealing that her RHoA co-stars likely won’t be included in the wedding party.
However, Kandi did backtrack a bit, and made it clear that plans for the big day are still underway. “If I did have any Housewives in the wedding it would be Phaedra,” she dished.
And when Andy mentioned that he was recently approved to officiate a wedding and would be able to marry Kandi and Todd, she seemed interested, but cautiously so.
“I wouldn’t want it to be like a joke…” she said with a laugh. “I’ll talk to Todd about that.”
