If you thought Jay Z and Beyoncé weren’t down for the Black Lives Matter movement, think again.

Music’s royal couple reportedly wired “tens of thousands” of dollars to bailout protesters in Baltimore and Ferguson in the aftermath of Freddie Gray and Michael Brown, who were both killed by the hands of law enforcement.

The news was made public by writer and activist, dream hampton. After Twitter users attacked the Carters for not being vocal about the unrest in cities where police conduct has been called into question. hampton, who helped write Jay Z’s book, “Decoded,” soon took to social media to defend the couple and disclose their generous contributions.

“I’m going to tweet this and I don’t care if Jay gets mad,” hampton tweeted. “When we needed bail for protesters, I asked hit Jay up, as I had for Ferguson, wired tens of thousands in mins.”

“When BLM needed infrastructure money for the many chapters that we’re growing like beautiful dandelions, Carters wrote a huge check,” she added.

hampton said Jay and Beyoncé’s contributions were “too much list.”

hampton’s tweets have since been deleted, but were screen grabbed by Complex.

The married couple aren’t strangers to supporting causes surrounding violence against Black America. In 2013, Jay and Bey attended a rally for Trayvon Martin, snapping a photo with the slain teen’s parents.
