Erykah Badu Returns With Mixtape And Nearly Crashes Itunes Due To Heavy Traffic

Erykah Badu is back! She literally broke Itunes in the UK, with the release of her mixtape ‘But You Caint Use My Phone.’ The mixtape was inspired by Badu doing a cover of Drake’s song Hotline Bling.

The mixtape was dropped at midnight. Shortly after, it became temporarily unavailable on the Apple store because of the massive amount of fans trying to download it.

To promote the mixtape, Badu shared a phone number with fans for them to call and chat with her. Clues for the cell number were hidden in the cover art for ”Hotline (Remix),” Phone Down,” and “But You Caint Use My Phone.”

Andre 3000 is featured on the song titled “Hello” which is a rendition of “Hello It’s Me” sung by the Isley Brothers. The 11 track Project has a few more guest appearances that will surprise fans. All songs can be bought individually via the Apple store/Itunes. A one price compilation should be coming soon. Although ‘But You Caint Use My Phone’ is exclusively sold on the Apple store, you will be able to purchase it on other streaming services beginning December 4th.

The mixtape drops a day prior to Badu hosting the 2015 Soul Train Awards, which will air on BET and Centric, November 28th.

Hit us back and let us know what you think about the mixtape. We’re glad Badu is back!!
