Dwyane Wade Fathers Baby Boy While On Break From Gabrielle Union

This one certainly flew under the radar.

Entertainment Tonight reports Dwyane Wade recently spent time with a newborn son that he fathered while on a break fromnow-fiancé Gabrielle Union. A source close to the couple tells the media outlet that the newly-engaged pair worked through the issue and Union was aware of the child before Wade popped the question.

The source added that Wade– who also has two boys from a previous marriage– knew the mother of his youngest son “for many years.”

Back in September, the Miami Heat star spoke with Jay Leno about the brief split, but made no mention about the secret child. Wade stated:

“Celebrity relationships are very hard. For us this was a big year for our relationship from the standpoint she was shooting her show, Being Mary Jane and gone most of the year. I was dealing with my injuries [and] trying to win a championship. So we kind of took a step back. We supported each other but we took a  step back for a little while. At the end of the day, we came back together and said we want to continue this and we want to get better each day. She’s been with me and I’ve been with her all summer long. We’re going strong now.”

It seems as if “strong” would be an understatement. Wade and Union got engaged earlier this month after more than four years of dating and look happier than ever.
