Bone Thugs-N-Harmony were by Eazy-E’s side all the way until the end, and it was the Compton artist that helped jump-start the guy’s career. They originally called into his office and awaited a response from him, and were pleasantly surprised when he called back after coming off tour. “He actually ended up calling us back, and at the point we auditioned for him and shared some lyrics with him and it was history,” recalls Flesh-N-Bone.

“A million phone calls” worth of auditions later, the “brothers, cousins and best friends” managed to sneak backstage during Eazy’s show in Cleveland. The very next day, the N.W.A. rapper flew all the members of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony out to California, where he linked them with producers for the lyrics they wrote over the years. Find out about their songwriting process, how their harmonized adlibs became a staple for the singing/rap tracks, and how Eazy’s beef with Death Row Records “was escalated a lot by Suge” in our latest exclusive.
