Yesterday (11/13), A Tribe Called Quest released the 25th anniversary deluxe edition of their debut album,People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm. To celebrate, all 4 members reunited on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to perform together on TV for the first time in over 15 years.
Backed by The Roots, Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Jarobi performed a rousing version of their classic “Can I Kick It.” The excitement in the studio, led by Fallon, was palpable as all 4 members seemed truly happy to be there. The audience played its part too, gleefully participating in one of Hip-Hop’s greatest call and response songs.
The answer to Tribe’s 25-year question about kicking it was a resounding “YES YOU CAN!!”
