On a night when most of the Grammy performers avoided or only glanced at politics, a late performance by the rap stars A Tribe Called Quest and Busta Rhymes went full liberal-politics preaching.

In their performance, the rappers repeatedly referred to President Trump as “Agent Orange,” effectively calling him a poison, for “perpetuating all the evil.” They also called out “no Muslim ban,” falsely describing Mr. Trump’s restrictions on refugees and travel from seven countries. They then repeatedly chanted “We [are] the people!”

The rap stars, accompanied by Anderson .Paak, also kicked over several symbolic bricks, referring to Mr. Trump’s proposal for a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The last lines of their performance were “all the bad people, you must go!” After that line came several repeated cries of “Resist!,” the mantra for anti-Trump demonstrators in recent weeks.
